Monte Schatz is Senior Counsel in the Firm’s corporate department, focusing on estate planning, trust administration, tax law, business succession, corporate governance, and dispute resolution. With over 35 years of experience, including three decades in wealth management and trust department leadership for banking corporations, Monte has practiced law for eight years. He served as an at-large director for the Council of Independent Nebraska Colleges Foundation and is a past president of the Omaha Estate Planning Council, past president of the Metropolitan Community College Foundation Board and past member of the Metropolitan Community College Board of Governors. Recognized as a Great Plains Super Lawyer and a Top Lawyer of Omaha, Monte has also contributed to Nebraska Lawyer Magazine. Outside work, he enjoys piano, biking, lake time, and being with his wife, five children, and three grandchildren.
