Iowa Court of Appeals Affirms District Court Decision Defended by LDM Attorneys

The Iowa Court of Appeals has affirmed a district court decision successfully defended by Lamson Dugan & Murray attorneys John Maschman, Rick Harris, and Sarah Schleisman of the firm’s West Des Moines office.

The case involved an appeal arising from a wrongful-death action in which the plaintiffs challenged the district court’s grant of summary judgment. The appellate court upheld the lower court’s ruling, concluding that the district court correctly applied Iowa law in dismissing the claims.

John Maschman presented oral argument before the Iowa Court of Appeals, with support from Rick Harris and Sarah Schleisman. Together, the team provided strategic analysis and written advocacy that led to the favorable outcome.

This decision underscores LDM’s continued success representing clients through all stages of litigation, including complex appellate matters before Iowa’s highest courts.

“Our appellate work is an extension of the same meticulous preparation and collaboration that guide every case we take,” said John Maschman. “It’s gratifying to see that diligence reflected in the court’s decision.”

LDM congratulates John, Rick, and Sarah on their excellent work and thanks the broader litigation team for their contributions to this successful result.
